Biography
NATASHA TUROVSKY Natasha Turovsky is an accomplished artist who has made acclaimed contributions to the Montreal and international artistic communities through her musicianship on stage, her unique mastery with the paintbrush and through her artistic direction of Orchestre Nouvelle Génération Natasha's artistic recognition was first gained through her musical talent as a professional violinist. She toured nationally and internationally with I Musici de Montreal for over 25 years. In parallel, during the early 90s, she began to develop a fascination for visual art, where the canvas became a place of experimentation that permitted her to express another facet of her creativity. Natasha has since produced hundreds of paintings and monotypes, along with several large scale works for opera sets as well as series of paintings made after such musical cycles as Song of the Earth by Mahler and Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. Private and corporate collectors boast Natasha's paintings on their walls in Canada, the United States, England, Spain, France, Russia and China. This animation based on Natasha's paintings made to Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”, was presented and performed live with I Musici de Montréal and toured in the United States, Spain, Brazil, Canada and Colombia.
